Carefree's guide on finding the right strut is to simply measure your strut.
If yours is bent, use a flexable tape measure. You just have to come close.
It maybe much easier to just measure the gas cylinder. That is marked
in Red.

Replacement Awning Shock or Gas Spring for Carefree Longitude. The best way to tell if you have the correct cylinder for your awning is measure the cylinder only. The cylinder part with the gas in it. This cylinder measures 11-5/8 inch long. See pictures below to see how to measure it.

The next one is sold without the eyelets. You need to use the eyelets you have.
This one goes on the Steep Pitch Travel'r aka Traveler

This strut measures 37" with the eyelets. And measure 35.5 without the eyelets.
Once again, it maybe much easier to just measure the gas cylinder. That is marked
in Red

I just had a customer who bought the Carefree strut sku2419 share that he was able to replace the strut WITHOUT taking the rivet out. What he did was unscrew the strut from the eyelet. Carefree sells the strut without the eyelet, so he screwed the new strut into the eyelet that was already on the awning. I have not done it myself so I do not have a video or picture but I'm 100% this guy was able to do it.
I have suggested to purchase the kit below to be able to install this strut and still feel it is a good idea to have the kit on-hand to do the job, eventhough this suggests you do not need it. I would not want to get my awning apart and not be able to get it back together for a $3.95 part.

The next 3 all measures 42.5 inches
from the end of the eyelet to the other eyelet.
Keep reading below to tell which one you need
